We arrived in Quito Wednesday night just fine. After two weeks in Mexico City helping Isael, I (Rick) has some trepidation about any big Latin capitol city. Mexico City was just such an awful, awful place. But Quito is really great. It´s clean, safe, and uncongested, with very friendly people and good food.

On the left is our hotel, Casa Sol, which is a nice place for $40 night. Tomorrow we are headed North to Otavalo for Spanish school. We will be crossing the Equator by car. There´s apparently a pretty cool spot where you can stand exactly on the Equator. I would like to see if water flushes in opposite directions depending on what side of the line you are on -- Rick
